Yay it's done!
Ruffles, while pretty to look at and play with, are not fun to knit. They felt like they took forever, but I'm glad I did them because they look really nice and really finish the piece.
On to the pictures!
Modeling the finished project Front and Back:
Sorry for the goofy expression. Mom didn't
warn me when she was taking the picture.
Closeup of the lace sleeves and seed stitch border:
Finally, how it stays together! I didn't want it hanging open like in the original so I sewed buttons on to one side and they are small enough that they slip into the selvedge stitch on the other to keep it closed.
All in all I think it turned out really well, though I'm not sure it looks the greatest on me. I think it makes me look kind of chunky but my Mom and grandma assure me it looks great. I'll probably wear it anyway because I like to wear things I made, even if they look horrible.
The pattern was really easy to follow and I love the ruffles, even if they were a pain in the ass to knit. I really didn't have any problems except getting a little bored with the lace stitch and swearing at ruffles late into the night.
Once again, found the pattern here : http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter02/PATTbella.html

Grrrrr
So I'm having computer problems. Arg. This is what is happening: I apparently have a bot on my computer. Its a program that does nothing to your computer, but uses your internet connection to send out thousands of spam emails. Apparently it's undetectable by virus scanner, spyware scanner, and to get it off your computer you need to wipe your hard drive or take it a "professional" and pay around $100 to have them find it and remove it. Frustrating. It's really not a big deal, it just sends lots of emails but doesn't really do anything else. It's not a virus or anything like that, it just uses the internet. It really wouldn't be a big deal except my mother's stupid internet provider automatically shuts off the connection whenever it detects a large internet usage like that. First of all, if it's undetectable and isn't going to hurt my computer, why should I care? Second of all, whatever we do with our internet is none of the ISP's business and if we want to send 3 million emails per day we should be able to do it without them calling and being like, "We detected high internet usage. What are you doing?"
It's none of their fucking business what we do with our internet so go away!!!
In short, now I can't use my computer because it will send out a lot of emails without me knowing it and Mom doesn't want to have to call every week to tell the people to turn our internet back on.
Arg.

Woo Double Knitting
So I got bored last night, and with all the projects I'd love to start, I forgot I told a friend I'd make her a scarf and a couple boys that I'd make them hats.
*Sigh*
Oh well. Last night I was sick of working on the sleeves for my Bella so I decided I'd start Ari's scarf since I would have to eventually. I was not looking forward to the 15 rows, then switching colors, then 15 more rows of boring stockinette stitch etc. so I wondered how I could make it more fun. And then it hit me! I've wanted to learn double knitting for so long (you really have no idea) so last night I cast on and worked it out!!!!
It's a little tedious, but most new techniques are at first, the only thing I have to worry about now is if Ari will mind if I spiced up her boring scarf a bit.

New Yarn!!!
Ok, I know I don't neeed any more yarn, but who can resist when it's on sale at Hobby Lobby for less then a dollar? Not me.
I have two wonderful new yarns both of the novelty type that I'm going to find something fun to do with (hopefully anyway).
New yarn aside, I really want to knit something with beads in it. I'm thinking a cute A line skirt with beads around the bottom but I dont' know. I think if I use a pastel color and use brightly colored beads they will really pop but I don't know.
But, before that happens I need to finish my Bella, which is really coming along. All I need now is the sleeves!

Almost complete!!!
So, I went to my grandmother's house in Indiana for a few days. It's a 4 hour drive but luckily my sister decided she wanted to drive so I got to knit the whole way there. I took along my Bella and I'm so excited because I almost have it done! I just have to do the sleeves, and they have this cool lace pattern so I'm thinking it won't take that long. EEE! Pics to come.
This is where I found the pattern. I love knitty. :)

New to this
So here I've gone and done it. I've started a blog. Yes, me. I'm really bad about updating these things, but I'm hoping this one will be different, since it's going to have a knitting theme. I'm trying to get organized, so this will be interesting.
